Building Turbines, Inc. - BTI Phase I Project

BTI Phase I Project - Fall 2011

In the summer of 2011, Building Turbines, Inc. an Austin, Texas manufacturer of small wind turbines, commissioned the Austin Green Energy Group to do a thorough and complete assessment and evaluation of their current wind turbine systems. Utilizing the expertise of the Austin Green Energy Group membership and collaborating with The University of Texas at Austin’s Mechanical Engineering Design Projects Program; the Austin Green Energy Group orchestrated an R&D project for Building Turbines, Inc. which was designated as “BTI Phase I” and implemented the fall of 2011.

The ultimate goal of the BTI Phase I project was to add value to the Building Turbines products by quantifying performance parameters and streamlining future redesign efforts.

Considerable engineering resources were applied to the BTI Phase I project from both the Austin Green Energy Group and The University of Texas at Austin. The successful results of this collaborative R&D effort were presented to Building Turbines, Inc. sixteen weeks after the project was started. Building Turbines, Inc. was so impressed with the Austin Green Energy Group’s endeavor they immediately decided to authorize AGEG to pursue two additional R&D projects for the spring of 2012 on their behalf.

Staying true to the mission of the Austin Green Energy Group; AGEG will continue to offer their expertise to individuals, companies, and communities to assist with environmental and alternative energy innovations.
